1. Who we are

Iron Hill Bureau De Change (“Iron Hill”, “we”, “us”) is a Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) licensed Bureau De Change, operated by Izeza Investment and Financial Services, with branches at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos and Shop 14, Westbrook Mall, Ikate, Lekki, Lagos.

This notice explains what personal data we collect through this website, why, how it is protected, and what rights you have over it, in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission’s (NDPC) General Application and Implementation Directive.

2. What we collect, and why

If you use the Contact form: your name, a phone number or email address, and your message. We use this only to reply to your enquiry. Lawful basis: your consent, given by submitting the form.

If you submit a Buy & Sell request: your full name, phone number, preferred contact method, residential or business address, Bank Verification Number (BVN), a government-issued ID document (International Passport, NIN, Driver’s Licence, or Voter’s Card), and the details of the transaction you are requesting (direction, currency, amount, purpose, and preferred settlement). We collect this because, as a licensed Bureau De Change, we are legally required to verify the identity of anyone we transact with (Know Your Customer, or KYC, obligations under CBN regulation). Lawful basis: legal obligation, and your explicit consent, given by ticking the consent box on that form.

We do not collect: payment card details, bank account passwords, or any information beyond what is listed above. No money moves through this website, and no payment gateway is used.

3. How your data is protected

  • Your ID document is never stored in a publicly accessible location. It is kept in a private, access-restricted area of our server, outside any folder a web browser can reach directly.
  • Your BVN is encrypted before it is stored, and is only ever decrypted for authorised staff reviewing your specific request.
  • Only staff who need to process your transaction can view your submission, through a password-protected staff area.
  • The website enforces HTTPS (encrypted connection) throughout.

4. How long we keep it

We keep Buy & Sell request data, including your ID document and BVN, for as long as required by CBN record-keeping rules for licensed Bureau De Change operators, and delete it once that retention period ends. General enquiries sent through the Contact form are kept only as long as needed to respond to you, and are not retained beyond that unless you become a transacting customer.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share it with:

  • The Central Bank of Nigeria and other regulators, where legally required.
  • Our email and hosting providers (Zoho Mail, Hostinger), solely to operate this website and deliver emails, under their own data-protection terms.

We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for marketing purposes.

6. Cookies

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. It uses only the technical cookies WordPress itself requires for the site to function (for example, keeping a staff member logged into the admin area).

7. Your rights under the NDPA

You have the right to:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Ask us to delete your data, subject to our legal retention obligations as a licensed BDC.
  • Withdraw consent at any time for anything we process on the basis of consent (this does not affect a transaction already completed).
  • Object to processing, and lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) if you believe your data has been mishandled.
